Engine Coolant Temperature Sender - 87' 924S
Hi Folks,
I have a question I am in the process of purchasing a 'Engine Coolant Temperature Sender' OEM part number: 944 606 201 00 average cost $80 - $90..... other cross referenced numbers (1T1192, 53-7676).
I ran across a web site that cross referenced a BMW part number: 62110788115 part cost $5 - $12 - I am tempted to buy and try the BMW part - anyone have any suggestions?
My old part is badly oxidized - I have cleaned it once and the gauge did not fluctuate - now it is starting to fluctuate and is oxidized plus - its time to replace it after all those years in the 87' 924s.
Thanks,

Look at the sender carefully to see if it has Bosch or a part number written on it.
Porsche used Bosch senders so anything that meets the temp curve of the sender is OK.
I.e., if you can find a Bosch sender with the same number it will be a lot cheaper than the "Porsche" part.
