I found my overheat issue today. Even though my water pump does not leak comma it does not pump. I took the thermostat out of the housing today, started the car and watched zero water move through the system. New pump is on order through Carquest, and as soon as it arrives hopefully I won't have any more stop and go traffic overheating issues.

I would have to say no, with a hint not at all very likely. It's just too far in there and there's a fair amount of hardware in the way. But, never say never.

But you're welcome to try and report back!

Finally changed the pump. Was more than a pump issue. Had blocked water jackets in the system. Did a full flush through every opening and now... Cool running! Enough so, that my gauge that lives near or in the orange now was only at the top of the green!

Bonus? Engine now revs above 5k without spark breaking up!

Woot!!!

Yes, but... We yanked the belt so we could try and get to everything to flush the system.

Small, but needed progress today!
1st-- dash came out so that I could put new bulbs in the gauges. It might be nice to be able to read the speedometer at night...
2nd-- passenger side power mirror is now working again. Still need to do the driver's side, but I can at least adjust it via my fingers.
3rd-- for the first time since I bought the car, the passenger window goes up and down! This makes me happy as this next week will be another smokey 100F experience.

I now have heat in the car! Woot!!! My heat control valve cable mount on the arm broke off. So, It is wired open for the winter.

My headlights are driving me nuts. The car will not idle while they are on. I think the motor is not shutting off. I need to sort that out as it is dark so early now.
