What happened exactly? I have a non turbo 924 engine from an 80 I'm looking to get rid of. Not sure if it could be of any use for you or not...

It is a LOOOONG story. But I saved this car from the junk yard. It only has 51,000 original miles on it, and is good shape. But the head cracked and was removed several years ago. Then the cylinders rusted. So I don't know for sure what I want to do with it. I was thinking of converting it to electric. But since it is in such good shape, I would like to restore it. I would like to find a rebuilt motor for it.

Could you post some pics of it? If it's really in that good of condition it might not be too much trouble to restore it. How original you want to make it could make things a little harder but I might be wrong as I've been out of the 924 world for a while.

Your best bet is going to be to find a used 931 for cheap and make one good car from two. Unlikely that you're going to find a properly rebuilt 931 motor, and unfortunately, the head and internals from the naturally aspirated 924 will not help. The only commonality between the 924 and 931 are the block, crank, rods, and cam. Virtually everything else is model specific (pistons, head, valves, intake, CIS, etc.). Use craigslist to search for cheap 931 for sale. Send me PM if you need guidance or advice, and best of luck.

If anyone is interested in buying the car, I can send pics. They are too large to post here. The car is solid. 1980 Turbo with only 51,000 original miles. I think the whole engine is there but the head that was cracked. It does need a passenger side front fender and fresh paint.
