Spare tire and tool roll

Spare tire and tool roll
Hey everybody -
I see that I have the collapsible spare tire in the boot. It is the original tire and probably not a good idea to use it being that it is 26 years old. Can I just have the collapsible tire removed and put on a regular tire? What are you guys using as a spare? Also, attached is a pic of the tool roll - some of these are obvious:
From left to right - srcrewdriver, pliers and wrench, the next two items are used to change the tire [remove the nuts from the rims] ...but what about the last 4 tools? what are they for?

The right 2 tools are for removing the spark plugs. I don't think I have the remaining 2 in my '87 924S kit.
I don't think a standard tire would fit the rim for the collapsible spare. Best to just buy a wheel and tire that fit... mind you it won't fit under the carpet.
I inflated my collapsible and it held air and didn't explode... so I figure I can try to use it for a slow trip to the nearest garage... But I also have my auto club membership in my pocket.

A regular tire on that rim won't fit in that opening. If you want it to fill your hatch area you could lay it flat. If it has not been used it will likely get you home if you get a flat (if you have the or a compressor on board) . Blow it up and test /examine it, easy and all it cost you is a little time.
