Default Just changed out the rear hatch shocks

Hey gang -

I just changed out the rear hatch shocks. Both of them are Stabilus and took about 5 minutes per side. The right side [passenger side] is just slightly different from the drivers side [to accomodate the trunk light wire]

It was a very pleasant surprise to press the release button inside the drivers side footwell and see the glass hatch lid open up on its own.

Default Hatch

Keep an eye on the upper glass bond where the glass seals on the hatch frame. Your new fun may likely lead to separation (and water leaks) there due to the new forces you have now applied to the aged bond between glass and hatch frame.

I did read about that - and yes I will keep an eye on it. Thanks for the tip.
