Transmission fluid replace

Transmission fluid replace
Have just found out that my manual 924s (1987) has never had the transmission fluid replaced. What is the best/ current standard fluid for my transmission? The only type available on pellican parts is the "swepco 201 80w90". Would that be good or is there something better?

Yes, its an Audi 016 transaxle (similarly used in the Audi 4000/5000/200, etc.):

The option tag in the trunk (assuming the transaxle is the original one) behind the trunk carpet along the edges.
Another option is to lift both rear wheels, put the car in neutral and turn one wheel. If the opposite wheel turns in the same direction, then you have a LSD. If they turn in opposite directions then you have open diff.

Well, I put Redline in the "dogleg" Porsche 915-based box on my 924 and it made a huge difference in shift quality.
I put Redline in the Audi 016-based box in my 944 turbo and the shifting was non-existent when cold, but worked just fine once warmed up.
I'm going to put the Swepco in since my research indicates that should help solve some of the issues I'm having now. Though to be honest, this box has over 200K on it, so there's not much I can do that won't be a stalling effort at this point.
It was just remarkable how large a difference there was in cold shift effort from the old fill and the Redline on that gearbox, especially after the gains found on the other gearbox.
If you do a little searching here and on other 944 forums you may find some strange results when using Redline on those gearboxes, its a bit mixed to be honest.
