Default audi engine swaps

Ok all of you 924 guys... I have been reading a little into swapping an audi 5000 turbo diesel engine into a 924, and it seems like it will be a pretty direct bolt in after figuring out motor mounts and a bellhousing adapter. I still need to find a 924 to attempt this with after i build up my spare 5000 TD engine. But my question is, will an audi B3 or AAN engine be as "simple" to do as the TD engine? My goal is to have a 50 mpg 924 diesel daily driver, and a 924 CGT clone with a 20v turbo is this possible, or would it be about as easy as swapping in a chevy v8? thanks

check the google for the 5cyl 20v turbo swap...iv read its nearly a perfect swap...need to make your own motor mounts and adjust the front cross brace to alow for the oil pan....

doesn't a 924 get like 40mpg...would tthe expense of the engine and install labor not really make it worth you while to do the conversion. you'd save like 10mpg, but also pay $1 more at thet pump.

it would be different though

924s actually don't get as good of mileage as they should, i think i remember someone say it gets high 20s low 30s, but i could be mistaken, and with diesel you can convert to WVO and run it for free And the labor would be done by me. I don't know what would be involved to make it AWD, it would probably be WAY more trouble than its worth... but would be pretty sweet in a CGT replica with the audi 20v turbo!
