Default Power Steering Leak

Newbie here with a just purchased '88 924 S with a bad PS pump. Put the new pump on but can not get the brass washers to seal to the pump. They won't seat properly and cause a bad leak. The washer is larger than the indentation on the pump causing the washer to deform when tightened.
Any sugestions/ advise would be greeatly appreciated. Desperately want to drive my new toy!

Fixed it, turns out the new crush washer was just a bit to large to fit into the recess on the new/ reman pump. Filed it down with a hand file to make it smaller. All is well. No leaks.
