Default 1987 924s stalling

Hello all, I just purchased an 87 924S, and have lately been having stalling issues...it seems to drive fine...then suddenly it feels like it's missing...then it will just stall...sometimes it fires back up...other times it takes about 10 or so cranks to get it started...I have noticed as a temp fix to get it restarted, I can place a penny (yes i know its bad, but if im stuck in an intersection it needs to be done) between the first two red fuses under the drivers dash...and it will start up. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Also, a few cases it has started...idles fine..but when I start to drive it stalls...ive also had it so it would stall in a parking lot...started fine...i could drive for 2 minutes in reverse...but as soon as i started driving forward it would stall.

Strange. After diagnosis of many such problems(using factory DME test plan) I would suggest checking fuel pressure at fuel rail - i.e. fuel pump, pressure dampener/regulator. Also on occasion speed/referance sensors failure can manifest itself in strange ways. Fuel pump/computer relay. Airflow meter. I have also seen DME control units fail in strange ways although hardley ever the same failure mode - try switching with a known good one. Also I would advise against "jumping" fuses, this may cause more problems and creat a multiheaded dragon to diagnose. Inspect back of fuse panel carefully to see if any wires are melted - this is a longshot, but I have seen fuse box(central electric)problems.

I would say the solder on inside your DME relay is cracked. because this is how mine was acting right before it left me stranded.
