How many 924S's out there?

I only know of about 5 0r 6 rennlisters with an 86-88 924s. Stand upand be counted! We are the few-the proud, the "skinny"
Anyone have production numbers/ export totals?

...just wondering.

Production numbers should be in the 944 FAQ (Kevin Gross's). You can search for familiar faces in the Register:

88 924S here, picked her up about a year ago with 41k ORIGINAL miles, I love this car. We are terribly looked down upon imho and just because our cars are faster with a higher top speed?!!! Well let 'em look down on us, I love to drive it.

I used to own a 964 C2 which I sold a few months back. I am now looking to buy a 924S for track day fun. I can buy and run a 924S for less than a 911 engine rebuild. Who says the 924 is no good <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I own an '87 924S with only 27,000 original miles. This car is perfect, drives just like brand new.

I own an '87 924S as well as a beater Early '85 944. I crunched the front of the 924S so it has become my dream project. I'm trying to make it look like what I think a modern version would look like with all the bolt on performance mods that will make it competitive with ricers, but retain daily drivability and the class associated with Porsche.

I own an 87 924S which is now 944-spec racer # 22. Yes, it's more aerodynamic than the 944. Also, has a shorter 5th gear than the 944. There's a guy in the Phoenix group of 944-spec racers that also uses a 924S.

I had an '88 924S for about 2 months - before a Dodge Ram truck hit it and demolished it. I'm looking for another one, to turn into a race car. I only got to take mine out on the track once, but it was fantastic. The previous owner holds a lot of track records at Willow Springs with it.

Yup - got one 2 months ago for SCCA ITS. I have already revamped about everything. it is so quik on back roads when it runs right, I can't imagine anything coming close in an autocross.

I'd like to have one. I figure it would make a nice garage mate for what I've got. Although I have a neighbor who's been neglecting a 944 that I may go see if it's available for a nominal sum.

I saw a 924 coming out of downtown yesterday. Yellow with a black bra. Pre-S model. I don't see too many 924s.

Turttle 05-08-2003 07:49 PM

88 924s here, solid black, got her for 5,000 with 71k orig miles, one owner, don't know a whole lot about them but i know i beat a 99 vet with her. not completly a member yet. could some bodie tell how to find out more about my beloved 924s? :D :D :D

Lousailor 05-08-2003 11:36 PM

Turtle you lucky SOB. The was the last and best 924. It's got the full 944 mechanicals with no de-tuning as in earlier models. Check out the FAQ at 924.org for more details.

Patricia, You must be referring to Rick White's car. He and that 924S embarrassed many bigger cars in the POC. Come join us in the 944-spec group. If you prepared your 944/924S to our rules, you'd be in the V5/R7 group. Or you could keep the interior in, drop weight elsewhere, and be in GP.

Tim, that was - operative word here is was Rick's car. That car was incredible, Rick had it set up beautifully. Plus, it was great having my own personal instructor, :) . Unfortunately, it is no more, and I'm looking for another one. (Check out patricia2 at p-caronline to see what became of it :(. ) Rick is helping me, but feel free to contact me if you hear of another car in that class for sale!
