How do I set my timing on a 1980 931?

1980 Model
1. Run the motor till it’s at operating temperature (– this if you can get it started.)
2. Switch off and then connect up your strobe.
3. 3. Restart and set idle to approximately 900+/- 50 rpm
4. pull off the vacuum hose to distributor – this is the hose on the side closest to the exhaust (other hose is the full load pressure hose)
5. Shoot the strobe on the flywheel timing marks it should show 20 degrees when your running at 2000 rpm
