Post Engine Bay Bulb

Can someone please post the part number at Murray's or AutoZone for this bulb? It's the bulb that illuminates the engine bay. I cannot find which one it is. 87 924S. Thanks.

It is just a standard old #1156 S.C. Bayonet bulb. Just go in the store and look around. I think the standard 1156 puts out 32 MSCD (light output measurement) so you might want to look around for a bulb that puts out a bit more light. A 2396 puts out 40 MSCD and will fit fine.

It's funny. I thought there was something wrong with the wiring to my underhood light since it would not turn on even with a new bulb. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the headlights had to be on to get the light to work...

In most of the 944/951s I've seen, the engine bay light will work if you just turn the light switch to the parking light position, first indent. That way you can get whatever little light that bulb puts out without running the headlights and draining the battery too bad.

It is a more or less worthless light anyway, you really want a flashlight to help see.

So my light might not be burnt out at all? lol. In a way that makes sense engineering wise because if you don't have your headlights on it must be daylight so you don't need that little bulb. It's strange though very strange! I'll check lol.
