i bought the car with screwed up tires....it has 195/60/15's instead of 65/15's..and it has the same size all around so the car is a little squirrely and it seems that the back end sways a bit at high speeds, especially when i don't have much weight on the back (not on the gas).

I carry about 110 into the Bowl (South turn) at Pocono and can stand on it all the way around the turn and down the front straight. I've glanced down at the speedo just before the braking zone and saw around 120+, but I don't know how accuate the speedo is. "
It is a tight fit with those tires - until now I've run 225/245 G-Force tires, which are actually narrower than the Hoosiers by 1/4" to 1/2". The fenders are rolled, and I run 1/4" spacers all around (don't do it without installing longer studs), wheels are 7&8" from a 944S2. Kumhos are about the same width as the Hoosiers, so when I put Kumhos on in the spring I'll have to pull the fenders out a little more to clear them.
I haven't run the long course at Pocono (Al -were you there with CVR in Oct? I had a schedule conflict for that event), but at Lime Rock when I get the downhill right I just touch 120 at the braking zone for Big Bend. These cars are a lot of fun.

Matt,
I run with NNJR. We were at Watkins Glenn in October. The 1/4" spacers are a good idea, you're absolutely right about the width difference I ran G-Forces without any clearance problems. You'll need to really pull the fenders out to clear the Hooziers with the spacers. Are you with CVR? The instructor in the car http://boards.rennlist.com/upload/VIR.JPG was Jim Addelman, great guy and super instructor.
Winters somehow seem much longer since I've discovered how much fun these cars are.

Nice pic, your car looks great. It's always good to see other 924S's on the track.
I'm a CVR instructor, so I know Jim well. He's a great guy, was our chief instructor until a year ago when he handed the reins off to our current chief.
I've run with NNJR in the past, but didn't get to any of your events in '01. Next year, hopefully, and maybe you'll get to our Pocono event in May. My car is pretty tired - I have a lot of projects to get done on it before spring, so the winter will pass quickly, I think.

Sorry about the late response - I was scrolling back down the line, saw "Laughing Planet" and thought "what the hell?" HA! I used to go into Laughing Planet a lot, but live off of campus now. On top of that, the Air Force uniform is kind of frowned upon around Kirkwood and I'm in it the days that my classes are "in those parts."
Siam House though... my girlfriend can't stay away from there!
BTW, Kirkwood has to have one of the higher "Porsche-per-square-mile" densities in the mid-west! It seems like I see some sort of P-car every time I'm out there.
Did you go to IU?

About 150,000 miles ago I hit a shade over 140 on a straight flat out stretch of I 20 in Georgia in my 87 924-S. Fealt like a little more, but I think the wind resistance was sapping all the HP.
That was 10 years ago. I know the spedo was nearly dead-on at 83 Well, at least what the officer told me is what I observed when I looked down.

Got a 924 NA, 11:1 compression, no smog, 2400 lbs, 155 - 160hp, 16x8 ARE alloys/BFG Euro TA, 205/40/16. Tight fit of the tires on the wheels, tighter fit of the front tire to the fender. Harsh ride and completely inaccurate speedo, but damn does it corner. Gets good gas too.

Dammit, I was home last week for break... I would've taken you out on the town? You eat at Puerta Vallarta munch? My girlfriend and I are there so much we thought about taking up residence in that dirty little motel behind it... Where do you live in Muncie? Give me an e-mail and next time I'm home, the 85.5 and I will drop by
