944 CUP Series
The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) Virginia Region is in the final stages of the creation of a 924/944 only racing series named "The 944 CUP". It will be run in conjunction with the Pro Atlantic Road Racing Championship series (PARRC) mostly at Summit Point, CMP, VIR and Loews Motor Speedway and will be based on SCCA IT and PCA Class H & I rules. Unique to NASA events, there may be 3 or 4 races EACH weekend, in lieu of more practice sessions. Driver Championship points will be cumulated for the season.
The purpose of this series is to create an affordable and fun "one make" series in a skilled, clean, sportsmanlike racing environment. The intent is to allow a 944 prepared to either SCCA or PCA rules to have a fair chance of winning, allowing driving talent to come to the fore. To that end, a modified 13/13 driver conduct rule will be used and enforced. It is important to note that the 944 CUP is a wheel to wheel racing series, and will have strict requirements for safety equipment and driver qualifications.
The series would be open to all non-turbo Porsche 944's/924's prepared to one of the following SCCA/PCA Classes:
SCCA ITS
PCA Stock I (944)
PCA Stock J (924)
PCA Stock H (944)

Thanks!
