Post Fuel Leak- undriveable.

I posted in the other group as well- need help ASAP. I developed a fuel leak between the rear wheels- Only when car is running. A little hard to get underneath, as it takes my garage about 2 hours with 2 fans to clear out- (I smoke).

Have noticed about 10 seconds to turn over now, normally 1 second.

This is my ONY daily driver and would appreciate any help possible.

Thanks- Chris <img src="graemlins/crying.gif" border="0" alt="[crying]" />

Be thankful the leak is not from the tank. Loosen the hose off the filter and let the gas drain into something.

Thanks- Will try it tomorrow. Why does it have to happen with a full tank of premium???
The leak is at the outlet of the fuel filter- I suspect a hose clamp pinched thru the rubber- Should I still drain the tank??, or can I pinch off the fuel supply with hemostats or vice grips- I don't want to have 10+ gallons of fuel laying around while I replace the hose-

Turns out it WAS a bad fuel line- burst at the connection above the trans- A note for all- Use a 1/4" soctet and a thumb-turn socket wrench- takes about 1 hour if the hose clamp is bad, oh and you had better be able to see with your fingers- No way to see what you are doing when loosening / tightening the clamp. Next week I change the Fuel filter- looks easy compared to what I just went thru.
BTW-, Put an old rag OVER the top of the trans- Took an Hour to retract my shortie screwdriver from INSIDE the trans case....

Many thanks to ALL who posted- I coul;dn't have done it without you <img src="graemlins/xyxwave.gif" border="0" alt="[bigbye]" />
