Maximum bore for the 1984 CC 924 engine block

How much can the 1984 CC 924 engine block be safely ovebored? Can use liners if necessary. This is my first post on the forum and thanks for any information. Jerry Poole

Max bore in the iron 924 (Audi) block is 3.500". This is based on sonic tests on several blocks.

Just looked, and I took a couple of engines to 3.580". Best to sonic test cylinder wall thickness if you go this big.
