Bit of a thought update, I have been working through ideas and ways to have functioning AC and Heating in my 924. If I leave the stock set up, I will only be able to run Heat with no AC. So my plan is to adapt a 85.5 HVAC interior unit into the cabin. I managed to get the whole interior unit for free, with wiring so if it done not end up working out, there is no lose at all, just possibly a more costly way of getting AC. reason for this change is I have to mod the firewall to keep the engine at a good location and set back in the engine bay, this mod took away the room for the stock AC unit that normally sits in the passenger foot well. Once I can work on my swap in Dec, I can get a lot more practical information.

Default Steering

I received my A8 steering column system that I am going to either pull it apart and use what I need, or adapt the whole set up which would be really cool to have the adjuster system and all for it. will see how it all pans out when I go home to work on my swap after the 20th of Dec. If it does work out like I am thinking. I will have some fun and try molding in a Porsche crest to the steering wheel center.

Default HVAC fitting

Hey all, working on fitting the late model 944 HVAC unit in. It is going pretty good, got it set about where it needs to go, required some extra cutting.... but what has not required that on this lol! But it will be a nice upgrade from the old worn out 81 924 stuff.
I will continue working on her after Christmas
The Dash will require a bit of mod work, but nothing crazy at a, was pretty surprised at how well it fit over the upper section.

Default Header!

Constructed my Passenger side header. All tacked together, took about 5 hours to fabricate.

All tacked together.

Here are some pictures of my blower shroud set up with the Late model stuff installed. Was pretty fun getting it set up.

Drivers side Header tacked together and in place. Still have much work to do, but pleased with the shape.

Both Collectors will be shortened, then a V band clamp installed.

Thanks Karl! I did do some posting on FB for a while, then I dropped out of a lot of groups, was consuming a lot of my time. Once things slow down I will plan to rejoin the 924 group. Has been a lot of crazy work, but all worth it! Thanks for you post on this, not many people understand or want to understand this project swap insanity.

They might be, paid like $8 for them on Rockauto a while back.

Default Dashboard work

Hey all. I will be starting my Dashboard modifications and repairs to fit my A8 cluster and to make room for my wiring that will need to go through. I will post pictures of the dash as I make progress. should be able to start it this coming Friday or Saturday. depending on work schedule. Thankfully I have 2 spare dashboards here I pulled out of 2 old cars going to the scrap due to some awful crash damage. I plan to do the top of the Dash in Black, and the lower half in out family tartan as shown in my thread a bit earlier on my Door cards and arm rest/cassette holder
