Default '82 924 DITC Box Qustion

Hey everyone,

I've been working on my dad's '82 924 N/A lately and have run into some issues with the ignition system. Last summer I changed the coil, cap, rotor, plugs and wires as well as did some work on the fuel system. In the fall the car was running great, however when he went to take it out in the spring after being stored for about 5 months, it wouldn't start. It cranks but has no spark. I checked and I am getting power to the coil, and I even tried swapping the coil out with a known good one but no luck. I was told to try unplugging the DITC Box and cleaning the connector, but where I'm told the DITC Box is located (under the HVAC system, accessed through the driver side footwell), there's nothing there. There is a large silver box directly under the steering column that looks like it could be the DITC Box but it's a pain to even get at but I'm wondering if for whatever reason the Box was moved on this car? The Box under the column has the one main large plug and two smaller round plugs on the side.

My other question is what is the sensor located within the distributor? Being a vacuum advance distributor, I didn't think it'd have an electronic component to it, but there's a set of wires running into the distributor. Could this be part of the issue? I'm generally used to working on 944s so a lot of the engine related work on the 924 is totally new to me. For what it's worth it's a Canadian market car if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance for the help!
