Default Hello world

My basic 1980. Not running with a wiring disaster and no door/hatch tumblers when I got it. It is now almost ready for the road. I still need to bolt the exhaust back on, get door/hatch tumblers sourced and do a bit more wiring clean up. This will be my daily driver soon.

Can anyone tell me about the wheels on this car? Were they an option? Just an aluminum aftermarktet wheel? Something special?

Thanks!

Those are the standard 924 turbo wheels.
I don't see the 924 turbo nose on your car but the side skirts are from a 924 turbo as well.
So maybe your car is a 924 turbo?

Default david pagan Promotion 924 wheel

They look to be oem 924 turbo wheels painted gold, they also came in 4 lug black and silver was the original finish, the spokes are not painted.
(exposed metal color) .

If you're sure its an 1980, then its a 924 NA that somebody upgraded the brakes and wheels from a 924 turbo and also installed the side skirts from the 924 turbo.
Strange though, those side skirts require some welded hardware to mount...its interesting if anyone went to the trouble of installing all that hardware just to have the turbo skirts....do you have any pictures of the engine bay?

Hmmm... No pics right now as the car is 45 minutes away from me. Non-turbo, but I don't know how to tell if itnis a S or not. I just assumed it was a base model as I had read all 80s had 5 bolt wheels. Thanks for any help!

Ok, found 1 engine pic. Just found out the a PO had the wheels painted when the car was repainted. So, perhaps the skirts were just added for the look?

It's alive. But lots of little things left to do. Hatch key/cylinder are MIA as is the door key.

Door locks now work after a rearrange of the internals. But, still no lock for the hatch. Haven't driven it yet.
