Default FINALLY DONE

More pics to come, but I've been having too much fun driving my baby this weekend. It's been a long road- 2.5 years and countless budget increases.

Ha! It's pretty well done at this point. I have a couple of things to touch up, but then I'm just going to enjoy it for a while.

BTW, what is the colour??
I believe it is called Mineral Grey Metallic. It's a color from the Mustang, but I've always loved it on them. The pewter color really shows the lines of the car well

It does look beautiful.

What are peoples opinions of adding the Porsche crest on the front trunk?

Did it to both of mine- just looks correct IMHO, and Porsche did it on some of the special 914's back in the day. Looks "empty" without it AFAIC... Just make sure it is in the right place. Some place it too high on the hood and then it looks horrible.
It's a matter of taste.

Just noticed you put a passenger side mirror on yours. Did you find an actual pass side mirror or just flip a driver's side one? ( I know the bolts are already in the door- just too damned nervous to drill the holes!!)

Porsche never put a hood badge on any 914 until the 916 came along, and then they put it on the back panel!!!!!! (almost like they were ashamed of the car) but we know of course for the most part it was because of the agreement they had with vw. If they did not want to put their hood badge on the 914 we do not either. That makes the 914 stand out on its own as the only so called PORSCHE without the max hoffman made up family crest shield!!!

I agree on the hood crest. This one had it drilled before I owned the car so I did not have too much choice; based on the age of the old badge on the car, someone added it back in the late 70's. My previous 914 did not have one, and the car looked like it was missing something. If I had wanted a concourse car, it would have mattered a bit more to me.

As for the mirror, it is an actual passenger side mirror. It was an add-on by the original owner (the car has only had 3 owners, including myself), and it looks like he pulled the inner door panel off to find the bolts- thank goodness

WOW! Too cool! As the former owner of 4 914-6s, a 72 1.7, 4 73 2.0s I am in pain right now wanting at least one of them back. Also, never saw a 6 without a hood badge and added the badge to all my 2.0 cars.
Great color too.
I'll give you $10,000 for it. Should be a significant profit for you.
