Yes, I know my hood badge doesn't actually belong there but it is on the original dealer invoice and it is the early original solid orange bar type in great shape. The car is a '74 CanAm LE and I'll rationalize that the badge is part of this particular car's history. I'd miss it and it's staying on the car.

How is it that I've never seen a 6 without a hood badge? Does that mean someone (or everyone) took the initiative to add the badge? I added to all my 2.0 cars but it came on my 4 6's.
Originality be hanged. A car as nice as the one in the thread deserves the badge. As a matter of fact, a 75 whale tail too if he wants it.

Thank you all for the kind words- it was certainly a labor of love.

Great color too.
I'll give you $10,000 for it. Should be a significant profit for you.
Funny, I'm getting the itch to find a new project already. I doubt I could ever make a profit on this one though

Specatular car, and great color.

The 914 still provides the most fun per horsepower, at least in the Porsche lineup.

Very nice! Although I currently own a Cayman, I have great memories of my old 1974 914 2.0. Bought it new just out of college and immediately took it on a couple thousand mile trip where I discovered the joys of the fuel pump right over the exhaust and the resulting vapor lock. It was my daily drive until 1989 when it was no longer safe to drive due to serious rust everywhere. (Stupid Chicago winters with salt everywhere!) I like to lurk on this forum to bring back the fond memories.

I've had a couple of boxsters and a 951, but I never really got over my first 914. I don't know that you can drive it without smiling
