Byron I love those 914-flat8 Dr. Porsche + Piech birthday presents ! But our project was born out of the #9 Action Express GrandAm racer. The v8 Cayenne powered Daytona 24 hour entrant performed flawlessly, it will definitely hit our mark in club racing.

The next flat 8 is slated to be the 960.
Liquid cooled with quad turbos, $250k, I'm down with that. That's about $700k less expensive than the 918.

How to remove 25 lbs. Of sound-deadening tar: first - soften up with heat, second -chisle it away.

Default 3/1/14 Car's condition update

Sorry these are all out of order, consider this a photo dump of the car's latest condition.
The car is back from the blaster, and will now be seam welded and the strengthening kit will be welded on as well leading to the roll cage.

Here are some high - res photos of the SQS Sequential Adapter, and a mock up of how it'll look in the car, eventually...

Yes I know the heartbreak of throwing away some of these momentos, but the fenders suffered from parking lot rash. Also these were cut away in a fashion that would be difficult for sectioning onto another 914.
If you do need other body or interior parts please PM me !

Hello Renn 914 community, here is the latest update on this project.

Seam welding every part of the car:

As you can see in the background in the car, every seam has been welded:

Inner long / Cabin stiffening kit welded in:

Here is the rear quarter panel almost ready to fit some monstrous wide fender flares:

Here are some quick engine accessory picks of its latest stage. This is the Wilson Intake Manifold aka “The Flying Mailbox”, shown with the largest RC Injectors they offer, rails and throttle body, and of course the infamous Daytona Prototype Velocity Stack Intake (which we will not be using, due to our forced induction requirements):

As you can see in this picture, the inside of the intake manifold is the very wide diameter for the RC Injector. This hole was originally not wide enough when it was originally milled for the Rolex Sports Car series, so it was carefully widened to fit the injectors:

So can you use any of that ITB set up above? I thought most ITB's were in place of FI.....

I have flirted with throwing the VR6 version of ITB's on my 160k mile cayenne......but its too much of a gamble without experts around my hood.

The Wilson manifold works more like a tall plenum "Tunnel Ram", as all of the intake legs are commonly connected via the upper housing, and then ultimately controlled by a single air door.
If you are looking to hot rod your Cayenne v6, I would simply do a CAI, high flow cat back and a reliable ecu tune.
