Default 1976 - Porsche 914 heater problem

I have a Porsche 914-4 from 1976 with a defekt heater system.

Alle the leveres and cables connectet to the blower motor and airchannels seems to be okay, but there is no heat from the cowls in the dashboard.

Does anyone know if the blower motor usally is the cuase of this problem ?

I can`t hear the blower motor...

Do you have dash controls set up to direct air to the dash?

I suspect if you can't hear the blower motor, thats a part of the problem.

914's have a heater???

Actually with stainless exchangers, my '71 actually does put out kind of warm air...

If you don't hear the motor with the lever all the to the right, something is wrong- check the fuse first, then make sure the cable is moving the lever on the motor far enough to start it. Then just drive it in warm weather

If the problem is just heat, make sure the heat lever is pulled on the floor by the shifter. But, the blower should be blowing with the levers right on the dash.

Sometimes the diverter breaks. There is a critical rivet that will break and then the flap can't be controlled by the cable.

It's easy to fix. Remove the diverter box, open up the seam and drill out the bad rivet. Reassemble after riveting in a new piece.
