Please! Any leads would be helpful. I didn't get a jack with my car, recently found one complete with operating lever and lug bolt socket, but no straps.

That reminded me. Check out http://shop.914rubber.com/product.sc...9&categoryId=7

That is for the rubber only, but they do the hardware too.

I just looked at my jack strap anchors (the metal pieces welded to the bulkhead/trunk floor). They are different, which is something I never realized. What do the strap ends look like? It appears that one of mine has got an anchor with a screw, the other is...a mystery; it looks like the metal end is captured by the anchor. If someone can photograph an original set-up in a '72-74 I would be greatly appreciative.

C'mon, guys, someone out there has to be able to photograph the trunk-mounted jack and jack straps in their '72-74 car.

BTW; I also need the metal disc that fits on the screw that holds the spare tire in place. Got one?

I might have one of the disks, but I'm not sure I can get to it.

I don't have the jack straps in my car, so no help there.

I just found a spare tire/wheel disc. One more piece of the puzzle!

This is what it is. It's a picture of my jack, complete with straps I just recently bought. I cannot even attest to the appropriateness of the installation. It works, but I'm just not sure that this is how it's supposed to look if installed properly.

Domer - thanks for the picture! You have a trunk fully lined with carpet, while my car still only has the floor section (the bulkhead between the trunk and engine is painted car color). That said, do you know if your jack is original? My jack has an "up" feature, and a "down" feature; both operated by a steel lever about a foot long with a slight bend at one end. That said, I think that I know how to put my straps on - screw the bottom of the left one to the anchor, and hook the bottom of the right one to it's anchor. Now I have to figure out which jack is correct! It's raining like crazy here; after it stops I'll go out to the garage and take a pic of them - maybe somebody can provide info.

I figured you needed more. My jack is original, and after you spell it out for me, I will do whatever I can to help shed light on the issue for you.

OK, here's what I have...first two pics are an e-Bay find, listed as the correct jack for '74 914. The next four pics are the jack that was lying almost buried in a nest of cobwebs, dead things and pine needles - in the front trunk. The last two are the strap hardware/rubber that I've accumulated (one new strap coming from a P-car dealer - I don't know if it'll have hardware).
