Default 73 2.0L front bumper

Did the 73 2.0L come with a black front bumper?
This one looks like it's from the later model years:

Lewis- must say I don't remember a 2.0 in '73 without the appearance group which included the vinyl sails, chrome bumpers and fog lights. In '74 the special ones black with yellow stripes and white with orange stripes didn't have chrome bumpers or sails... of course, I'm remembering from memory as I don't have time to look through all my old literature etc.
I know you want to get a good 14- that one looks nice but I don't remember a factory delete for the 914- they weren't customizable like 911's from that era epecially since Karman made all the bodies and the 4's never set foot in a Porsche factory.
If you find one rustfree- buy it!!!!!

That does look like a nice one.
I've seen '73's without all that, but don't remember if 2.0, either.

My '73 2.0 came with the black bumpers and without the sailpanels. My car was a non-apperence group. I always thought it looked better without the sailpanels anyway. Pretty car! So to answer your questions that car could be a '73 with that bumper.

Well, now I know.
I love the appearance group and especially the covered sailpanels, but tell you what...after replacing/redoing them last time, I'd rethink going without.
What a pain.

Right qtr looks to have been refinished, look at the color/gloss difference. Pretty car but I would check that area for rust repair.

At the price they are asking for that it had better be PERFECT! It looks like an $7-$8K car to me.

Thank you.
Are there any preferred websites/dealers which might help in the search.
I usually monitor eBay, PCA Mart, Rennlist classifieds, 914Club, Camp914.......

I honestly didn't think it would be this difficult.

Jay is right about the 73 bodies with blacked out trim. It was special that Porsche did to try and sell more cars. Alan Caldwell knows the details of the program (better than I).

I think you're hitting all the websites. Maybe add 914world too. It's not easy to find a good one. I looked for over 2 years.

As far as previous work done, if you want somthing that no one has ever touched, you'll pay through the nose and look forever. Remember that the newest one is 31 years old and the ones you want are 33+. Work is ok if it's done right.

Good luck. I'll keep you in mind if I see anything out there.

I know mine is rustfree with no accidents but it will never be for sale- my boys will fight over it when I'm long gone... but you can drive it when you drive through for the nationals this summer Lewis...
