Ok so I'm all done fixing up the engine compartment and everything in the back. I took out all the interior stuff. Then I discovered there is some black body filler type stuff all along the floor, over the sheet metal. What exactly is that stuff? Because it was cracked I decided to insert a screw driver. Big mistake. the passenger side has surface rust. The driver side is BAD. Bad like I'm gonna cut the metal, or whats left of it, out and weld in some new stuff. But then I need to put that black stuff back over it, so I wonder what it is.

What if I really didn't want that stuff back in the car, because all it does is trap moisture? Is there anything else I can use, that deadens sound but doesnt do the former?

How about the "Rhino-liner" spray-on truck bed lining stuff?
