Post 914 reality?

I was thinking...
though I use my 914 for daily driver use, because the Saab really sucks, I think it should be more of a toy than an appliance. When I get to Germany it will be my "Sunday Car" anyway. Anybody share this view? For some reason I don't see the 924 or 944 in that way. Maybe because I don't have one?

Tell me what you think

hehe, I have an 87 SAAB 9000 Turbo as my daily
driver (but the power steering is going, and the
water pump, and the master cylander, etc).

My 914 was supposed to be my "Toy", but if I can
get it to run more solid, I'd like it to be my
daily driver so I can ditch the SAAB.

At least till I get a 924 or 944. Then the 924/44
would be my daily and the 914 my back to "Toy"
status. Especially if I can find someone to push
a bigger motor into it.

Unless of course I get a 944 Turbo, then reverse
those roles.

Heh, yes, I've thought about this long and hard.

How many miles do you have on your Saab? Mines up at 220K miles. Third gear is gone, no power steering, once your roll the windows down they won't go up unless you shut the car off and on again, tires almost dead, clutch going out, squeaky brakes (though new pads), shocks shot (annoying squeak over bumps), turbo makes weird whining noise and doesn't charge all the way. "I'm given her all she's got captain".

This was very much <img src="graemlins/offtopic.gif" border="0" alt="[offtopic]" />
