What is the oil pressure?
What is the oil pressure supposed to be on a 74 2.0? I just got my oil pressure gauge hooked up. It looks good, but I don't know what it's suppose to be.

I can't answer specifically for the teener, but generally speaking with a cold engine, the oil pressure should always be at the top. Once the engine is fully warmed up and is sitting at idle (heavy traffic) it can go as low as 1Bar or 16 PSI even lower some times. Everytime you press the gas, pressure should be back up at the top.

Het I put a 0-100 PSI gauge right out of the oil Galley in the case. Where the pressure sensor goes. 1/8 inch pipe thread. Cold with 20w-50 I read near 80PSI. HOT lie after a run at 85MPH for 20 miles it will get to 10 or 15 PSI. Depends where it idles at most of the time around 900 RPM. Cruising around town 3000 RPM stuff it will read near 50 or better.
P.S I thought a "BAR" was 14.7 PSI <img src="graemlins/icon107.gif" border="0" alt="[icon107]" />
