Nissan V6 in a 914
Hey folks.
I'm new to this board. I've always been a huge a fan of Porsche, the 914 in particular. I noticed that one of the members (Steve?) has a Nissan 300ZX engine conversion?
Right now I'm at a crossroads. I have a very temperamental daily driver that I'm looking to dump and I'm looking to buy a '72 914 to build up.
My ideal would be a Nissan 3.5L V6 currently used in the Maxima, Altima, 350Z and Infiniti G35's. This engine is a gem, responsive, broad torque curve and a screaming top-end, buttery smooth. Physically, the engine is small and very light, figures to be around 320 pounds.
I'm already know what the ballpark cost would be for a takeout engine ($2500). Does anyone know who makes custom tranny adapters for the 914 transaxle? This motor would be killer in a 914 without pushing the 914 transaxle beyond it's limits.

Check out Kennedy Engineering. They make all kinds of adapter kits for Porsche 914's. Their website is Kennedy Engineering
There is another place called Granny's Speedshop that might be worth checking out as well.
Good luck!
