Cheap 914 parts...
Here's the deal, I have access to a 1975 914 that is in HORRIBLE shape. (See this post.) It's been sitting in a field for God only knows how long...no drivetrain...major spots of rust...there's a wooden fence sitting on top of it right now.
Anyhoo, I'm going to head over to the field soon to see what can be salvaged, so if any of you think there is something you may want, let me know and I'll try to find it and or get pictures of parts of the car.
Keep in mind that the interior is all but trashed seeing as there is no roof, windshield or doors on it right now and the only thing keeping the weather off of it is a fence. I'll try to get some pics for you guys...

Here are a few pics. The first one is just from the side, the second is a rusty spot behind the passenger seat and the last one is the nose. Now you know what we're dealing with here...

I would be interested in the windshield frame if you drag the thing out. I want to make a chopped windshield on the racer. If you need help Ill come over and help for the frame. The rims should sell on the 914club.com

Any small part is worth salvaging on this poop-bucket. I don't want to see the whole thing trashed when there is one part that someone could use.
spare time toys - Where do you live? If you are close enough, we can go take it apart...otherwise, I'll see about stripping the windshield frame off for you. Just let me know.

The rear lenses are there, I believe one is cracked and the other has some minor "spidering"...if that makes any sense. I can snap some pics if you please...
I hope that's what you are talking about...

I had a client once who started out humble, then made it big. He had a special attachment to the Fiat he drove in college, so he took it to a junkyard, had it crushed into a nice neat little cube, and put it on the side of his driveway next to his Porsches and Lamborghini. (That's a true story!!) This may be a good idea for the 914 so that it doesn't go completely to waste.

Maybe with some funky paint work you could park it on the lawn and call it art! Somebody might actually pay a lot for it, who knows. Best wishes - Jay

Thanks.
I wanted to gut it, and make a sandbox out of the front deck and cab and make a stand-up sandbox out of the rear deck. The wife doesn't want it in her yard. Period. So either part it out or ship it away...
