A bit more progress today. This does not look like much, doing some touch-up welding along the engine bay rubber seal channel, but this is the last welding job on the list.

Back to the festival of weld grinding. I got almost everything on the bottom side.






I found a couple of temporary screw holes that never got welded--tomorrow.

OK, the list of metal work is essentially done. I have a bit of work to do on the doors, but YAY!

How are you getting the chassis to the paint shop? You can't roll it onto to a trailer on a rotisserie can you?

No, I plan to use a loaner dolly, from another 914 friend here in town.

That includes the spots welds along the top of the right fender, inside the trough.

The trunk is done.



The corners are a little ugly, where I had to build up the weld to close the ragged seams.

I did all the grinding in the engine compartment today, mostly along the floor seam. I duplicated the factory edge welding there.
