Betelgeuse

Good day. My 1967 912 with 4-speed has a bad 1st gear synchro, and shifter throws are very vague overall. Anyone have idea of cost to rebuild tranny? Thank you for any guidance.

I had my 67 trans 5 speed completely rebuilt by John Benton Performance in Anaheim Ca. Awesome job and great customer service. If I recall correctly I spent around 3k but it was a complete rebuild and re-gearing to better suit my HP.

I realize you are cross country but I would suggest calling John and discussing your options and he may have you ship him the trans or possibly he has a colleague on the east coast he can recommend.
