Default Correct seal for the oil drain plug.

Ordered a new oil drain plug and seal for a 1968. The plug is correct but the washer is too large. Found another part number and ordered it but it was the same as the first one.

This is the one that has been on the car, the washer is nylon which I do not think was correct.

This is the new plug.

Here are both of the washer which are the same size and too large, they will slip over the plug.

As far as I know... there is no seal... the plug goes from small to large and just screws into the oil plug... it does not go in all the way.

I had the same issue... the supposed oil plug seal that I got was the same you show in your photo...but when I look at the parts diagram, it does not show a seal..

It's a tapered screw, no seal...
