Need work on my 912
Hello all,
I have a 1966 porsche 912 and I need to get the front suspension pan taken out and a new one welded in.
I have the new pan, and I also have the gas tank removed so it would be a matter of getting someone who knows what they are doing to repair it.
I live in the high desert area of Southern California...ie Hesperia.
I can travel to get it repaired, and if it helps I also have a welding plug wired into my garage if someone would be interested in doing it at my house...
I have gotten some quotes and the people that are willing to do it want at least 1000 dollars and i was looking to spend hopefully half of that...
Any leads would be appreciated.
THANKS

I would also try to post in the regional part of the forums towards the bottom of the page to get a response if no one answers here. Good Luck and post a few pictures of your '66 when you get a chance

As I said in my above post, I have not done the job you are looking at doing, but am very competent and willing to help. If you would like to get together and go over a game plan I am just a phone call away.
The internet has dozens of sites that document this job. There really are no secrets anymore. One guy I really enjoy reading is Darryl. What a stud:

....again, if he can, I can.
Do you have all the supporting cast of characters?

I'm in Victorville. Do you live on the mesa and is your car white? If so, we have met. If not I need to know you since there are NO early Porsche car owners up here to hang with. The guy posting above's offer sounds like a good idea to me. He obviously knows of Restoration Design Inc from Canada. They fabricate the best body parts in the vintage Porsche arena. Go for it.
