Default Looking for....

a '65 912 that shipped to the USA in June/July 1965. Might have been the frist one to arrive here. I have some background on the car and original documentation for the current owner.

Documentation is in German, but engine number is 831.200 and I think the VIN is 2295526.

Can anyone help? Please email to plohmeyer@woh.rr.com or PM me. Thanks.

Put that on the 912Registry. I can't remember the guys username but he has been documenting 912's by vin#'s for quite awhile. His goal is to locate all of them left on earth. Just ask on there and you'll get quite a few to chime in.
I believe his name is Don Melcher

Update: Rick Becker is the guy and he has responded that the car is still in the KC area, and he has forwarded my email to the current guy. We'll see....this is neat!!

BUMP The 912 Registry says the owner lives in the Kansas City region. Have not found them yet and would love to get this rare documentation to them. VIN is 451.585. Original color champaign with green seats.

Please help if you can. Email: plohmeyer@woh.rr.com

I was the second owner of 350511, a red 912 sold new to a middie at Annapolis. It was registered as a '66 but was build in '65 right after they finished up the 356 line.

Final Update We found the car in Kansas City as of 2010 and have pictures. It was a mess! The thread here about restoration was mirrored in my conversations. Just not worth the candle.

Email me at plohmeyer@woh.rr.com if you're interested in pics.
