Default Has the year your car is exempt from Calif. smog changed?

I thought I had heard that they had upped the year to '76.

IIRC, there was a bill in Sacramento a few years ago that would have moved it up, but I believe it failed. Got a lot of automotive press at the time and everyone was excited. Will have to google it.

I really can't believe that they do this. Quite possibly the only right thing the DMV has ever done right.

The new rumor in the local car community is that they are considering 1980, but I doubt it will pass, too much money to lose on smog tests.
