Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W 50 too good to be true?
I am changing the oil for the first time in my '87 930 Turbo. The need for high zinc and high phosphorous levels for wear protection, and additive package for air-cooled engine, as well as synthetic oil base for hot turbo lubrication sounds good! But does the lack of certain friction modifiers to allow use of a wet clutch in motorcycles rule out the use in my 930? Would Redline or Joe Gibbs 20W 50 be a better choice? or???

I used Brad Penn 20W50 in my 930 and still use it in my '85 Carrera.
I use the V-Twin 20W50 in my 993TT.
There are many lengthy discussions on oil here on Rennlist.

I switched from M1 20W-50 for the same OP reasons listed above,... and went to the new Porsche Classic 10w-60, mostly because my dealership Parts Dept guy sold it to me for the SAME price as the Mobil 1 20W-50.
I have not changed out that P Classic oil yet, but when I do, I'll have it Blackstone tested & report back out on the other main oil discussion RL thread.
But I gotta say, when I read what Joe Gibbs has done with that DT50 15w-50,... I like what he's engineered into that oil. Might be worth a try there.
If you want to stick with the M1,.. I have for sale, 2 brand new cases, 12 quarts, of Mobil 1 V-Twin 20w-50. If anyone is local (MD,DC,VA,DE).
Was $140 new,.. I'd take $90.
