930 Muffler etc.
Hi All,
Hope you are well.
Can someone explain the muffler configuration for the 89 930? I want to install the European muffler onto my 930 and use the original exhaust. Is the cat. part of the muffler or a separate piece? I haven't crawled under there yet to see and the books and websites I have looked at so far do not give me a clear understanding.
Also, where can I buy the European version of the muffler? Is this the same as the performance versions offered through Imagine Auto, Pelican, etc.? Thanks for any help you can provide.

The cat is not part of the muffler and sits on top of the muffler and connected via "u" pipe. You can run a cat bypass or remove the whole assembly and run an aftermarket muffler or Euro setup. The Euro mufflers are getting hard to find. 5 Years ago I couldn't walk through the hall without tripping on one.
