Why does Hagerty value 930 coupes so much more than cabs?

The cabs always looked to me like a marketing department request grudgingly executed by the engineering department.

The coupes definitely hold truer to the race car theme and definitely look better, but I've always thought the cabs look pretty cool in their own right. I think I like the juxtaposition.
Still, I've personally decided to buy a coupe.

For a weekend racer you absolutely want a coupe and we are at the tail end of 930's being relevant as weekend racers. Not for performance as much as increased value. As a weekend fun car a convertible is usually more desirable as pointed out earlier so we may see this change over time.
It is also a different buyer, I don't think it's coupe buyers who will suddenly decide to buy a cab

FWIW, whenever Ive looked at 505 prices, the slant cabs seemed to be the ones getting the most attention. Not sure why it doesnt seem to be the case with non-505 cabriolets.
My experience may or may not be typical. Just the times Ive gandered the ads. I find the 505 cabs the prettiest of all the Turbo cars and Im a cab-hater by nature. I think the sloped front somehow balances with the high line of the folded top in the back. Or maybe its just my Miami Vice talking.
I remember someone on here bought a trailer queen guards slant cab with low miles and matching red rims for $39K about 10-15yrs ago. Still makes me curl up in the fetal position!

As I continue my search for a slant nose I'm now less searching for a cab or coupe and now just searching for the best quality car I can afford. They each have their merits.

Wife up my you know what, but I also had a
993tt and a 997tt at about the same time, multiple turbos seemed redundant. At the time air cooled cars hadn't taken off yet.....that slant and my first original blue 997tt are the two I wish I had kept.

I recall the car had been at the dealer for a yr after being fully restored, first they wanted 100k then finally down to 69k 12 mo later. I walked in one day in 2010 while getting my 997 serviced and offered 50, they accepted much to my surprise. That will never happen again....

Damn Chris. why do you keep punishing yourself with those memories of selling the 505.
buying it for $50k,... then selling it at ,.... well FORGET I said that,... I do NOT want to remind you of how little you probably made on that car,.. verses,... well, verses how hard it is to BUY one of those back for you in todays dollars.
my heart goes out to you...... but your heart is obviously bleeding.
stop punishing yourself.
