i've driven it--car pulls well, no obvious mechanical issues--some notes: the clutch pedal is very hard and it can be a bit difficult to shift into first from stop--normal for a 915 tranny vs need for clutch replace? the speedometer isn't reading properly, and the brake light on the dash lights up intermittently.

anyhow, ballpark, where would the market experts place this car's purchase price? the car belongs to a friend, so we are trying to find a "fair" price for both seller and buyer in an amicable way.

thanks in advance!
Your looking at $70-$80k car if the engine is all good. People that are saying it's a $100k plus car are drinking the koolaid (unless it truly a condition #2 car). I follow the market pretty closely and yes prices are all over the place. The super nice/fully documented original examples (76-79 and 89) are what the collectors are after. Lots of people are trying to cash out on the 930s right now and the market is relatively flooded. I hopped on eBay real quick and found a couple of driver condition comps for you.

I'm not drinking the kool aid but I think it's closer to $100k than $80k. However, condition and records are everything, so it's almost impossible to give it a value without a PPI etc. (plus, unless I missed it I don't see the year of this 930). For example, even in this down 10-20% market, mine would sell for past $150k BUT it's a well, well sorted all California car, all records from new (no joke), numbers matching, proper maintenance, and very good upgrades that make the car unique yet "stock-like." Is your friend's that you're looking to buy anything like my example? If so, maybe this helps. Good luck.

Totally agree, early cars, 89s and the 505s are where the money is right now, everything else is down 15-20% and I expect this to continue into the fall.

Sweet. There is a real nice PTS 79 on BAT. Should be a good indicator where the market is on the 78-79 cars right now.
