Gathering history of my 930 1989 BTR
Hello,
Itīs a "few" years and 3 kids since I was active on this forum... The good news is that I have kept all cars and actually added to the collection.
Two years ago Olli sold his 930 BTR to me (the car was formerly active on the forum as well). My older 930/76, which run a 3.3L b-group spec. engine, G50 & 935 coilovers is now back with torsion bars and a 3.0L & 930 box awaiting installation on the garage floor.
Well back to the topic, I received a lot of history with the 930/89, but some of the early history is missing. The car was sold new in the states in the autumn of 1989. I have all ownership history, but old addresses or only names for some of the first 4 owners, until Olli bought it in 2008 (from Foreign Cars). I will try to send postal mail and hope that it will find the persons I hope... Already send an e-mail to one former owner, but with no feedback yet. How can I try to find persons in the USA? Or is it possible at all...
The car has a Porsche vin and some pictures from exclusive motorcars inc. stating the parts fitted, but the documentation from the first 7 years is missing. Does anyone know if any documentation of the Company still could be sourced somewhere?
I contacted RUF (in Germany) last week and will fill out a research form for them along with requested pictures etc.
Itīs always good to share some pics, so here is a picture from my 930/76, which I converted to a RUF CTR, before deciding it will get the old parts back... I will take some pics of the BTR as well, for now search for Ollis posts to see the pics!
