Default Tire size advise please

I have an '87 turbo track car with speedline wheels. They currently have low profile street tires and I need to put some r-compound tires for the track. I believe I need more sidewall than what's currently on there for a track application. Any tire size recommendations that would still clear the fenders? Currently the rears are 285/30/18's.

I could get 315 r6's on the back of my turbo look race car. But those were 17" CCW's.

Why do you believe that?

Regardless, with the correct offset, 295/30, 305/30, and 315/30 are all viable options.

I just figured that with a small sidewall it's harder on the bumps (Sebring isn't a smooth track). I might go 305/30. That'll push the tire out towards the rim more (less of a stretched setup) and make it taller keeping it at 30. Will try to see how much more I can fit up front.

True statement.

Also a true statement.

I'm sure Dave [Dave 86 930 Fl] will correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC, he runs 255 on 9s in front and 315 on 11s out back. If he sees this thread, maybe he'll post his offsets.
