Default 1979 930 Purchasing Assistance

I've got a line on a 1979 930. This would be my first time to the ball with this purchase. The seller says, and I quote:

It's been sitting for several years so it could use a servicing/tune-up but it does run. It will need servicing to consider it roadworthy.

The pictures show what looks like some rust on the undercarriage, but overall the vehicle looks pretty solid. Asking $67,500.

What are some good questions to be asking, as I'm quite a distance from where the seller is located. I really appreciate your help!

For starters...Was it properly "mothballed" for storage? Need to see what you are seeing.

It would probably take a large bite out of 60k to get it close to the condition of this car.

Much agreed. Pay me now or pay me later.
No affiliation with either 930 but you would likely be well ahead with a 930 like the one mentioned above. It's also on ebay;

It has the miles going for it and it is a 79. The problem with these cars is you can easily spend $15k-20k just for a engine rebuild. You can have a PPI done it and see how that turns out and go from there.

I'd say based on response of mine for sale $67k is way too high for that particular car- I bought an really nice car and spent close to $20k to fix everything that it needed.

Real light, my rebuild was way more a couple of years ago.
The car above is all there, but it needs a total restoration, budget 30k plus at a complete minimum if it needs nothing major.

i have 84 930 with 36k miles , one family owned (sister+brother).
Its white with black interior.
Fresh repaint to clean up road grime and dents/scratches ( no accident )
Mostly stock except for:
-kinesis wheels
-993 brake calipers
-K29 turbo, no cat
Maintained be Morton Competition (Stuart) Stamford CT since it came in to USA.

Ask would be around 100k ( I still need to finished interior )
