Default 930 turbo '76

I got as a present from my friend 930 turbo '76,car was seating in his storage for years, someone left it there and never came back.I have a feeling that the owner ruined a car, because they installed a body kit,I guess they tried to make car to look like Porsche 959. I removed a car from garage, cleaned a washed it.There is no oil in a engine,so I didn't even try to start a car.Im so confused and don't know what should I do with it.Im not sure if is worth it to take whole car a part, order original parts and build back original 930 turbo.
Any suggestions will help
Thanks

As pu911rsr said, the car is worth saving. However, a full resto on that car will be $$$. We're talking bodywork and paint, plus correct rims, door panels, dash, a very hard to find turbo tail... That's why I said to just enjoy the car as is. You can start collecting parts in the mean time.

A correct 76 930 is worth a lot of money - the correct parts are also a decent chunk of change - most of what you need is not available new. I'd keep my eyes on the parts sections of all the BB's, ebay etc. and buy the correct parts as they are available. There are a lot of folks shopping right now for correct wheels, tails, fenders as lot of 930's were modded back in the day.
Good Luck!

Here is a turbo tail that i found
http://www.automotion.com/carrera-ta...1965-1989.html
Car inside is in ok condition, does not require a lot of work, some work for sure, but I'm more thinking about redoing a body. But i think that good idea is to drive it like this and just to start collecting a parts

Thank you

That's the wrong tail for your year car. If you need a tail, send me a message as I have one.

Seats look correct. Dash and steering wheel are not.

+1 on driving, enjoying and collecting the right parts for it.
If you don't want to under take the re-creation back to stock, then you can sell it onwards + include these parts as value added to the deal.
Is that a Steyer Pinzgauer or MB Unimog parked next to the 930?

Take the car to a good air cooled mechanic...have them put a list together and decide to what extent you want to bring it back to OEM...then start spending way too much time searching...every once in awhile add a few of the parts...but most important is to drive and have fun...if you tell the group where the car is located i am sure you will get some great recommendations for mechanics...also you will be surprised that once your list is organized if you post it here and pelican you will find the majority of the parts you are looking for.
