I see Steve McQueen's 1976 930 is coming up for auction at the Mecum auction in Montery next month; any guess what it will go for?

My guess is $350,000

I did not see that coming. When McQueen's brown Lusso sold a few years back for ~$2.1M everyone thought that was a crazy 'ownership' premium at 2X the standard Lusso price. This is ~6X the $340K paid for a comparable car at the RM auction today also.

Was it owned by SM's son? I think I either saw the add for the car or I might have read somewhere that the current owner bought it few years ago for a very low price?

Car sold last time for $140k, I'd say owner did ok-:biggulp:

One of a kind, at least the ownership, VERY iconic and not a barometer for other 930's, the other early ones went unsold I believe...
