Oak Green color facts...?
I am trying to find out what years "Oak Green" was offered on a turbo? Is it a metallic? Awesome color!
Thank's |
I don't know the exact production years for Oak Green, but I do know there have been at least 3 different Oak green pain code, the first was non-metalic as was availble very early on in 928 production, the 2nd two were metalic paints....
The last of which we have on our 965, it is a beautiful color and I have only seen 2 examples of porsches in Oak green now... I really wanted to buy the other just to have a pair of these rare 911's..... http://members.rennlist.com/klasic/965charlotte1.JPG http://members.rennlist.com/klasic/cafc2t.JPG http://members.rennlist.com/klasic/9...tpix%20002.jpg |
No doubt! Looks awesome. I recall my friends dad had a 930 turbo . This was in 1986ish??? I'm just not sure what year his turbo was... It may have been a 1979???
Anyone else know about this color or have photos??? Thank's |
Ok, I went back to check the notes I took on the porsche greens similar to oak and this is what I came up with...
Paint Code: Color: Years 265: Oak Green: 1978 - 1980 20C: Moss Green: 1981 - 1986 22E: Forrest Green: 1989 - 1990 22L: Oak Green: 1991 - 1995 Now keep in mind none of this is from the factory, and could varry from country to country and car to car (911 to 928 for example could very well be different, like 911 and boxster colors) |
thanks.

Deano,
Weren't you the guy that I talked to about my factory TT tail for your C4S? Are you selling the C4S and going 930? Larry (Chalet) |
a930Rocket,
Good eye, the last picture is also Charlotte (s.kings drive to be more exact)....... |
Larry, it is me. Good call. I'm thinking about it... What are you doin' on the 930 Board??? Hope you're having a good summer. I'm still kicking myself about that tail. I still have not tried the 930. I've been with the 996, 993, 965 & still want 930??? It would need to be local for me to do it now. Otherwise, I'll keep working hard. The, later on, I can fly around to find the right car... Have you had a 930? How did it compare to your 993??? What's the latest?
Best regards, Deano |
Deano,
Actually, I sold the 993 and went to the 930 instead. I drove a lot of 930s before I ultimately made the decision to go with the 993. After driving the 993 for a couple of years, I was ready for a change. I always wanted a 930, and love that feel of the turbo kicking in, so I took the plunge and bought one. I am now the proud owner of an 86 930. It's white, low miles, all stock (for now). I wouldn't be concerned about only finding one locally. I looked locally for a while, then expanded my search nationwide. Finally found my car in Denver, PPI'd it, flew out, made the deal and drove it back home to Chicago. It was a piece of cake, and I had a blast doing it. Good luck on your search. Larry |
