Default Question on stock wheels for 76 Turbo Carrera

Just curious how I could tell if the wheels I have are matched with my car.

There's number on the inside, but I'm not sure what they signify.

911361020 [44]
AS1062 __ 28139

I can take some pics, but just want to make sure I have the right wheels for the car before I get them refinished and new tires.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, looked up "Fuch" and found more info on figuring it out. I'll have to check out the wheels more when I get home.

The wheels on my 914-6 (flared) came off a 76-77 turbo. The are 7x16 on the front, 8/16 on the rear. Fuchs, black inner

Fuchs were stock, yes. Of course if the original owner was so inclined, they could have the factory or dealer install whatever they wanted, IIRC some cars received wide RSR Fuchs by request.

I was under the impression early Turbos had 15" wheels.

There is no way to positively confirm if the wheels are original to the car.

If all the wheels are date coded similarly, and are a few months before build date of the car, then it is likely. However, nothing can confirm it.

FrenchToast and WPOZZZ are correct, ’76 930’s were delivered with 7X15 fronts and 8X15 rears.

On the 3.0 and early 3.3 930’s the last 2 digits of the part number determine the width and were always in the mid-40’s range. My ’79 7 inch Fuchs end in [44] and the 8 inch ones end in [45].
Replacement Fuchs of the same type, width, and diameter may carry the same basic part number but the higher sequence last two digits will give a hint that they were manufactured at a later date. 911361020 [44] and 911361020 [45] are listed incorrectly in the Porsche PET for your ’76 930. As FrechToast also noted, If all the wheels are date coded similarly, and are a few months before (the) build date of the car, then it is likely (they are the originals to your car). The rest is based on information previous owners may have shared with you.

Here is what a build date looks like on one of my wheels. The first two numbers signify the week (51) and the last two are the year (78). You should find similar markings for the dates on your 930 Fuchs.

So, here's more info, but it's looking like these are the wrong wheels.

Car date is 04/76

2 wheels:
911361020 [44] 16 x 7
AS1062_28139a
2779 / 2879 (date codes I'm guessing)
205 55 16 Yokohama A408 tires on them

2 wheels:
911361020 [45] 16 x 8
AS1062_28139a
3479 / 3579 (date codes)
225 50 16 Yokohama A408 tires on them

There's also a:
"VAN KENSHAW"
"129 1010"

etched on each wheel. Handwritten in the wheel.

I'll check the other set to see if they're a better match.

CORRECT YOUR FUCHs ARE 1979 16 INCH

The '76 Porsche PET listing for 15 inch is incorrect.

Sorry for any confusion.
