Default NEED GAS TANK FOR 930

I have a 1987 930 Turbo and I need a gas tank, rusty inside.

Would like to know if anybody is happy with the new gas tanks being sold, and where to buy the best one.

Thanks for the help.

Rodger,

I have heard of anecdotal accounts of new tanks having issues with fuel flow- and the right approach is to have old tank cleaned up and coated inside.

Default 930 Turbo Gas Tank

I ended up buying a new tank from the Porsche dealer. It is discouraging to see that the color is wrong as well as the texture of the undercoating. Otherwise the tank fits properly and comes with the foam seal. I attached some pictures of the two tanks side by side. If anybody has any experience cleaning out the tanks and coating them I would appreciate knowing how it worked out.

Default Wurth Gray Stoneguard

This stuff matches the stock undercoating well. We used it on my recent 930 restoration.

Your tank doesn't look any worse than quite a few I've seen ...maybe better
for real..
inside can often be a different story but most radiator shops can hot tank
and boil any debris out of the interior recoat and should be good for another
twenty...
