Default 76 Carrera Turbo for Sale

Melb- Mike, Although the mirrors were installed in Germany during the tourist delivery by the original owner, they are aftermarket and NOT Porsche installed. You are right, the fender mirrors were common during that era. There buyer on hand plans to remove them (good choice)

In the early 80's I looked at hundreds of cars and helped bring over 70+ Porsche's to the US during the grey market. Many bad aftermarket parts and far too many cars sold as original that were poorly restored. I do recall a turbo that had mirrors like these installed. I can't imagine two people making the same bad mistake on a similar vehicle but it really is quite a shame.

I am curious why the new owner didn't have Porsche install the proper side mirror before he took delivery.

Interesting that these seem to have some value to the right person. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACK-TALBOT...1c4203&vxp=mtr

I actually saw the car in question at the facility that's also working on my car. To me, it looked pretty rough, I think it's in for a total restoration. Should be pretty nice when all done. Yes, the mirrors are thankfully gone!
