I have seen mirrors such as those and in such fender location in Japan. Very very common, as I am pretty sure that it is part of the Japanese motor vehicle safety standards? Sort of like our mirrors are flat glass and Europeans are convex, etc.

How much of paint is original, is service history complete. How complete is delivery documentation. I would say market for the early turbo's is much stronger than any of us realized.

It seems like the 70's turbos have really gone nuts in just the 5 months I have been back on site after getting my '87...i agree, sales like these benefit all of us, except those of us wanting to get a deal, need to have already purchased! I was cleaning out a closet today and found some Panos from a couple of years ago and the 70's turbos listed were in the 35-45k range...if I knew then what I knew now...of course I would have had the Shelby GT-500 and 427 Vette in mid 80's for a crazy 12-15 k then! I remember looking at a boss 429 and a LS6 vette both in the high teens, also a 2.7 RS for same price in the 80's. I bought a an almost perfect 72 S with 40k miles for $8400 instead, too bad I was not smart enough to hold onto it. I have always though that the 70 turbo's were way too cheap for what they are, seems like market has caught on.

Three Wheelin'
When I was in high school in the early 80s, I had a 80 Mustang. However, there were some older Mustangs for sale, but my brother told me I should look for their bigger brothers. There was a 67 GT350 and a 70 Boss 302, and he said the GT500 and Boss 429 was much better to buy.

Lets get something straight....I was genuinely interested in your 930 (for several reasons) and called you politely asking you straight-forward questions about the car and its history. From the start, you were a condescending rude ******* to me and "Implied" that I didn't have a clue about these cars......You know it and I know it ! After a few minutes of listening to your "used car salesman" bull****, I started to give it back, but you obviously couldn't handle reciprocal sarcasm !
Because I had a '66 911 that was stolen from in front of my house on a Sunday afternoon in 2011 and because I quickly realize the type of person that you show you are, I don't take your threat lightly.
I have spoken at length to someone at the FBI and forwarded your post (above) to them. I have also furnished your name, email, phone number to them just in case one of my cars should mysteriously dissappear !

Because you seem to have a problem with reality (based on non-thruths in your post) I have also furnished your name, email, phone number, the Vin # 930.680.0333 and $169k asking price (yes, your original post before erasing the asking price) to the IRS and both NY & NJ state to make sure that you pay the proper Fed & state "short term" taxes on any Capital gains on this car since you've obviously gotten a very good deal from an "80 yrs old man who's memory is foggy" and had NO idea what his car is worth today ..........you should feel proud !
Good luck with your sale, I hope you get your original asking price.

76 Carrera Turbo for Sale
Gents,
I cannot believe that quirky mirrors on our beautiful 76 Carrera Turbo can cause so many hurtful comments on this site. These forums are getting out of hand with some of the comments from the members.
I see no threats made and I think we should really re- evaluate the prices of these rare early Carrera Turbo's. We sold 2 -1976's for over $140K just in the past 2 months and this Silver 76 happens to be a true 1-owner car with great pedigree and is completely unmolested (except for some minor items i.e. hideous mirrors).
I have a solid offer close to the asking price from a local collector who visited us today pending his trade vehicle that we would like to inspect. We also have a 1976 Carrera Turbo in Black w Red as well as a 1977 Carrera Turbo in Mineral Blue coming in this week. These sale prices clearly show the demand on these rare cars and can only increase the values of fellow Rennlist members Porsche's.
Happy New Year to ALL !!

Mirrors on the fenders are a European item, and very common during that time period there. Was this a European delivery brought into the US? If so, needs paperwork trail. Does that affect value ? (I don't know, too new to Porsches). Is it conceivable to anyone out there that this car is worth $170k?
